Berkner High School Army JROTC

  Richardson, Texas

A Chain of Command is the succession of leaders through which authority passes.  In Army JROTC, the Commander in Chief is at the top of the chain of command, and the Squad Leader is the lowest level in the chain of command.  Even though most non-commissioned officers are not in the chain of command, their role is to support the chain of command through the NCO Support Channel.

NCO Support Channel - Subordinate to and supportive of the chain of command. It is incumbent on the users of this channel to ensure that the chain of command is kept informed of actions implemented through the NCO support channel and to eliminate the possibility of the NCO support channel operating outside of command policy and directives.
